Every summer, Tokyo's neighbourhoods raise a wooden yagura tower, string up lanterns, and dance in a circle to drums — as they have for centuries. Bon-odori is not a show. Everyone dances, ages five to ninety-five, and visitors who join are welcomed with delight.毎年夏、東京の町々には木の櫓が立ち、提灯が連なり、太鼓に合わせて人々が輪になって踊ります——何百年も続いてきた光景です。盆踊りはショーではありません。5歳から95歳まで全員が踊り、輪に入る旅行者は大歓迎されます。每年夏天，东京的街区会竖起木造的橹台，挂起成串灯笼，人们围成圆圈随太鼓起舞——这幅景象已延续数百年。盆舞不是表演：从5岁到95岁人人都跳，加入舞圈的游客会受到由衷的欢迎。
You meet your guide in the early evening for a 30-minute crash course in the two or three dances you will actually meet that night — the steps are simple and repeat. A yukata fitting is included if you want the full feeling. Then you walk into that evening's best neighbourhood festival, eat from the stalls, and step into the circle. Nobody dances badly at a bon-odori; that is the whole point of it.夕方にガイドと合流し、その夜に実際に出会う2〜3曲を30分で予習します——ステップは単純で、繰り返すだけ。ご希望なら浴衣の着付けも込みです。それから、その週いちばんの町の祭りへ。屋台で食べ、輪に入る。盆踊りに「下手」はありません。それがこの踊りの心です。傍晚与向导会合，用30分钟预习当晚会遇到的两三支舞——舞步简单且不断重复。如果想要完整的夏祭感觉，浴衣着装也包含在内。然后走进本周最好的街区祭典，吃着摊位小吃，迈进舞圈。盆舞没有「跳得不好」这回事——这正是它的精神。
